MANGA IS GODLY!!!!
Ok, BIG NEWS!!!! Well, kinda big. After work today, I convinced my mother to drive me to the Comic Shoppe here in Ottawa, which appears to be the best source for anime that the city's got (though I am hopeful about the Grinning Goblin, which is 10 minutes from me house). I was looking for the next issue of Mars and vol 6 of Gravitation. I was really excited about the latter, because I hadn't realized it was even released yet. Silly me, I confused it's release date with the release of the DVD of Gravi.
Anyway, I got there and immediately found Mars vol 7. I'm almost halfway through that series! And then I looked over to where Gravi was kept. And vol 6 wasn't there. ;_; I was dissappointed, though not surprised. So, since my mother had gone to another shop and was going to come get me when she was done, thus giving me time to spare, I stood around and debated whether or not I should just get two of Mars, rather than saving my money for when I did track down Gravi 6. I hadn't quite made up my mind when I turned around and saw this display. It was apparently of the new manga (had things like Pretear vol 1 which I looked through briefly...I really need to see more of that series). And sitting there, right in the middle, was the one and only (apparently) copy of Gravitation 6. Which I immediately scooped up. Just at that moment my mother appeared, so I bought my two manga and danced happily off to cloud nine.
We went grocery shopping before heading home, which was fun. I always make sure we get lots of good stuff when I'm with mom. She doesn't like taking me, because it's too expensive =P
So, I got home, and read Gravi. And just adored it. This is definitely my fav volume in the series so far. It had great Tohma moments, great Noriko moments, Hiro making an actual mistake (*gasp*), the best K I've ever seen (I was actually really liking him, when before I've always been rather neutral towards him), and SAKI!!!!!!
And Tetsuya, which is great for my VSaT RPing. Now I have actually seen them in canon. It's great.
I also love how Shuichi finally looks like the anime version of him, and it was done realistically (he finally got his hair cut). Also one of the best scenes I've seen between him and Shuichi yet (the one where K is shooting at Yuki).
One of the best things about this was that I finally could see it. Most of the volume sadly did get cut from the anime (though the reporters swarming Yuki's house and Hiro quitting Bad Luck did make it). Plus as always Maki-sama is SO hilarious. I was laughing so much, especially at K.
I'm just in love with this volume right now, which is really nice because I wasn't so crazy about 5.
And then, when I finished that, it was on to Mars. And, as with all the odd number volumes of Mars, I just loved it. Except right now I am cursing it, because of the cliffhanger. All mangas have cliffhangers, but Mars is really bad because I don't know basically what happens, which I do for the other two serieses that I am collecting (Gravi and Fushigi Yuugi). It's just horrible.
I'm really looking forward to 8, because I do have some idea of what's going to happen (thanks Rosa for spoilage...though vol 7 basically gives what happened to Kira away).
I really wish I could read it now...but I do have to wait. Oh well...I get paid on the 15th (SQUEE!!! A PAYCHECK)...I think..., so once I see how much I get I should be able to see how much money I have for Mars. If I'm really lucky, I'll have enough to order the next three at once from Chapters, and thus be able to not pay shipping and handling.
Well, that's about all for now. I'm going to watch the first two Harry Potter movies with my mother tonight, so she can remember them (well...I may skip out during CoS, because I don't particularily like it at all, though Kenneth Branaugh is just wonderful!!!!) and then I'll be starting to watch Witch Hunter Robin. I don't have to go to bed early tonight, because I don't have to get up early tomorrow! So I'm sure I will get a least one episode in.
I may even take a look at my writing, abandonned in the wake of my job ;_;, or more likely I'll do some work on the Slytherin update or actually do some tasks!
