Okay, final project for screenwriting class is...not going great. It's a business plan and I just find it...way too business-y. I mean, I understand that it IS a business but there are certain things here that are just so over my head.

So I'm going to take a break and might not look at it again until tomorrow (probably not, actually). And I'll probably be a little creative with the template and put a note explaining why and hope that's good enough. It probably will be and hey, even if it isn't...well, I don't exactly care about marks/getting the certificate anyway XD

...but one would hope that you'd like to learn how to construct a business plan, no?

It might, er, be useful at some point I would think. I've needed such a thing on more than one occasion for my creative work.

Some parts of it are definitely useful but there are other things that I could probably do but I will never look at again once I pass the assignment in.

It doesn't help that he's told us that the "template" we're using isn't exactly designed for what we're actually using it for necessarily.

I suppose. I've just never understood that attitude ... there's something you want to do with your life, you voluntarily enroll in a program to get better at it ... uh, I'd do all the assignments and do them early and try to learn everything and sort out later on what isn't important.

Sounding like a mom here, or something, but oftentimes you learn the most from the process of doing something, not the end product.

But ... whatever. You do what you think is best, of course.

I really felt like I was just pretty much typing the same thing ten times over in this. I have a plan, I really do...and this template didn't actually let me share ANY of it.

So I am reading the advice from 2raggedclaws and nodding my head and thinking "I agree, I couldn't have said it any better!" and then she puts that part about "sounding like a mom". She must mean "sounding wise like a mom and dispensing good advice"! Well said - now I don't have to say anything.
