SACRED STONES FOR ME

So, as I went to Wal-Mart today, it occured to me....I have a credit card. Since I know I'm getting money next week, which I plan on spending on buying Sacred Stones...why not use the credit card to buy it now, so I can play it right away.

So I did.

I'm really liking it so far, I'm very fond of the characters, especially Eirik(a). I'm glad she's not like Lyn was, all I AM FEMALE, I AM STRONG, etc... I also rather like Lute already...and Franz (is that his name? the green knight). And Joshua, though I just got him.

I am going to need some help from those who know the Japanese version though...what are the name changes? I want to know who's being talked about, since I'll only know the English versions.

And yes, like Kate, I laughed at the name Cormag. It was funny. Artur however, not so much =P

Pleasepleasepleaseplease pay your bills off right away. I have so many friends caught in cycles of over-spending and the subsequent continual debt and it sucks :(

I do always pay my bills right away...most of the time the monthly bill is for $0 anyway.

I wouldn't have bought the game if I didn't know that I was getting the money next week.

Eirik (Eirika) (It's also pronounced Ay-reek, not like the male name "Eric".)
Taana/Tahna (Tana. This one, not a big deal, just a different reading. As long as the 'a' is long, it's the same name.)
Morda (Moulder. Completely accurate name, he's just not commonly called by it. ^^)
Ashley (Artur. Main problem with that is that one of the mages from Seisen is named Arthur, so that was a bad move on their part :p)
Lutae (Lute. Same name, as long as the "e" is pronounced :3)
Rachael/Rachel/Larchel (L'Arachel.)
Reinach/Reynack (Rennac. Same name, basically. Different spelling.)
Dozler (Dozla. Same thing, more or less.)
Cougar (Cormag XD God, that's a funny name XD)
Keselda/Keselder (Caellach. No clue where they got that XD)
Hineas/Hynias (Innes. My lover ♥~~~~)
Leon (Lyon. Same thing, just tricky pronunciatiowise, since most people would pronounce Lyon "Lion" ^_^)
Jist (Gerik)
Marika (Marisa)
Tetis (Tethys. Another pronunciation issue.)
Myrrha (Myrrh)
Sareph (Saleh. I call him Saleh, though, it's VALID just not REALLY valid.)
Ishmaea (Ishmaire. Think it was changed to get rid of the "Ishmael" conotation that was there on purpose.)

I THINK that's it ...

Glad you're liking it. I ADORE Eirik, yeah, she's really cool. And Joshua, too. And Lutae amuses the hell out of me, and Frantz is SOOOO cute :3

Oh, yeah, and the kinda "Renais" is "Lunes" in the original script ^_^

Kinda XD KINGDOM. HI I SPELL GUD.

[identity profile] rosa-aquafire.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. I rule and keep forgetting stuff. Noel/Nole/Noor was translated to Knoll. Which is completely valid, but all I can think of is 'small grassy hump', so it causes me laughter XD

Personally, Ms. Rosa, I think "Tethys" *is* what the developers intended, because "Tethys" is a mythological name, of a Greek nymph or dryad or something, as I recall. The reason I believe this is because I've seen the EXACT same katakana name in other videogames...the protagonist of Bounty Sword has a nymph helper whose katakana name is EXACTLY the same--the Te thing, another Te thing, a mini version of that vowel thing, and "su." The fact that the same name shows up in multiple games (and given the fact that Bounty Sword's Tethys is a fairy, like the mythological one, sorta) indicates to me that "te-ti-su" is how the Japanese represent "Tethys." ^__^

Yup, Tethys was ONE of the names for one of the Titans in Greek mythology. BUT, Tetis is the spelling for it in many different cultures, as WELL as how the katakana dictate the name is pronounced ^_^ Someone on FESS ages ago, when I still went there, from one of those cultures, I forget which (mexican, maybe ...) was saying explaining that whole things, so I looked it up. And, ARG, I forget but one of the OTHER names that the spelling matching a different version matches the katakana was from the same thing, and now I forget it ;__;

I guess I stand corrected =P

[identity profile] i-paint-the-sky.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Are you sure you're not thinking of Thetis? I believe that's the name of Achilles' mother. There could be someone else though, but Tethys and Thetis are rather similar, don't you think =P

I think Knoll makes sense in a way, because it they put it as Noel, people would pronounce it like Christmas in French (at least I would). Maybe they were going for an older look, with the "kn".

[identity profile] rosa-aquafire.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it does. I've always spelled it Nole, because I hate the Christmas conotation on Noel XD The "Knoll" spelling just amuses me because of the whole grassy lump conotation, so I stick with Nole. Both are completely equally right :3 Just giving the heads up for when you do see different names, you'll know who's who.

I actually think that Knoll was probably his "official" Japanese name, but we can't know for sure because of lack of artbook being released as of yet :(

Why does THIS make me a geek?

[identity profile] i-paint-the-sky.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Because every aspect about your existence SCREAMS GEEK, so much that you can't come up with a single reason why you aren't a geek =P

Of course I'm a geek. But what was geeky about "CORMAG SMASH"?
