Okay, my day off. There are a few things I could do but I'm going to try and focus on just writing, writing, and more writing, because I am approximately 10K behind :'(

I've discovered a bit of a problem with watching TV on DVD/the computer while writing, in that there are no commercial breaks for me to just focus on writing. This is problematic. I thought Angel would be okay since I've seen most, if not all, of the episodes before but well, it still was bad. So I'm definitely going to have times when I just have music and that's it but I don't think I can do that the whole day.

Also, randomly, I've been in a mood for the X-Files so I watched the pilot last night. And discovered that, while when I was younger I didn't ship Mulder/Scully, I'm pretty sure I do now. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny do have some mad chemistry, even from the start.

I know that this is going to sound like crazy talk, but why not try writing with nothing for a while. No music, no TV, no streaming anything .... nothing but your brain and words and thoughts. To concentrate on one thing at a time is pretty profound, sometimes. It might make a change, at the very least.

Also, holy X-Files nostalgia Batman! That show. That show. What a profound teenage experience that was.

Uh, actually, I suppose for me it was a late-teenage / early 20s thing. It's all so fuzzy when you look that far back - knowutimean? (lol)

Yeah, my first X-Files related memories are from grade five, so I was ten.

Whoa. I had friends that worked on the show.

Definitely crazy talk.

I'm using music right now because I think it really helps set the mood for the scene. But I write with nothing quite a bit. I honestly don't find that it makes too much of a difference, really. Though I do find it gives me a better disraction than say, looking up and seeing email alerts XD
