Day 29- What BSG means to you

Remember that 30 Days of BSG meme I did ages ago? The one I never finished? Well, I decided to finally finish it up. And then perhaps follow with 30 Days of The Vampire Diaries because I love it very much.
Anyway, let's see what theme is up next!
Oh wow, I only have two days left? WTF, how did I not finish this earlier???
Battlestar Galactica is still, to this day, my favourite television series of all time. This is something I don't see changing any time soon because it was just so damn good. The cast was amazing (I still will watch a show because one of them is in it), the story epic, and the stakes probably just about as high as they can ever get. And there was the music, oh the amazing music!
It's also one of the only shows that I know the episode names by heart (though at New Year's, I was quite horrified when I couldn't recall "Unfinished Business" right away, since it is my favourite episode ... but it has been awhile since I last watched it ... I should fix that).
But for me the biggest thing about BSG was that it becamse a real step back into active fandom for me. While I have written for a lot of different fandoms (26 according to FF.Net and it's missing my old Passions stuff as well as any fandom I currently have a WIP for), I haven't really been active in that many. When I say active, I mean not just writing fic but reading it as well. Not to mention having icons and participating in discussions and fests and all that good stuff.
When BSG came out, my last active fandom was Harry Potter and I hadn't been doing much for that for several years. So BSG really brought me back into the fold and I was a part of that fandom for awhile, even though I only discovered the show during the gap between season 4.0 and 4.5.
It also helped me meet some awesome people. I can think of a number who are on my friends list on LJ because of BSG fandom.
I don't really have much more to say than that. It is an amazing show and through its run there was really only two episodes that I would flat-out call bad, and one of them (Deadlock) had to potential to work but was sort of killed by the editing (IMO pretty much all the deleted scenes should have been kept in, while some of the superfluous scenes that made it could have been cut).
BSG was a great experience that may never be equalled and that's okay because I'll be fine with it being the pinnacle of my TV-watching life.
