After a few weeks of spending my time on other endeavors, I've started back at my second Inquisition playthrough. And while I was playing it last, I started thinking of those choices in the games that I will categorically never be able to do. So I thought I would make a list of them.

And because I have made some tough choices, I decided to add the hardest thing I've ever done in a playthrough.

There will be spoilers for Inqusition but I'll put that section under a cut (at least they will be if you are reading this on LJ, that code doesn't seem to work on Dreamwidth).

Origins

- Despoil the Ashes. This one is mainly because I just don't see the point.

- Let Anora execute Alistair. Because yeah, you guys should know my undying love Alistair by now.

- Leave Cailan's body on display/leave it for the wolves. Because I also love Cailan and he deserves better than that.

The hardest thing I've done: Killing Connor. My Queen Warden had used the Right of Annulment on the Circle and wouldn't consider blood magic as a solution. Still, this is something I don't think I'd ever be able to do again.

DA2

- Turn Isabella over to the Qunari. If she comes back for me (and she hasn't always) then I damn well am not going to turn around and betray her.

- Give Fenris back to Danarius. Because OMG this is pretty much the worst single thing you could do in the entire franchise.

- Stab Anders in the back. I just ... can't. I love him too much. I can handle fighting him if you side with the templars but not the back stabbing. Just no.

The hardest thing I've done: Probably having to kill Fenris when my first Hawke sided with the mages. Because it was my first playthrough, I wasn't expecting to have to do this - even though I'd had companions turn on me before so I knew it was possible.

Inqusition

- Have Cullen take lyrium. This was the point I hit recently that made me think about this. This is probably the second worse thing you can do in the games, IMO. And yeah, I just ... can't.

- Leave Alistair behind in the Fade. Even if it was my beloved first Hawke, Ariadne, I don't think I could ever leave him behind. Sorry Lisbeth, who is going to have a Warden!Alistair retconned into her world-state.

The hardest thing I've done: Leaving the Chargers. This one really hurt but I figured a) they knew what they were signing up for and b) I didn't want to force Bull to become Tal Vasoth, since the Qun clearly meant a lot to him. Oh, and c) didn't want to jeopardize super sweet alliance with the Qunari. But still, it was painful.

There may be others I'm not thinking of right now. If there's something that stands out, let me know in the comments.
