Because the look back at past entries in January was interesting, I thought I would try doing it every month. So let's see what I said over the years around February 9th!
2014: Ah, Quatre. A few years ago, he would have been ranked higher probably, since for a long time he was my favourite male anime character (you'll meet the guy who surpassed him at the #10 spot). And I almost wasn't sure he would make the list at all but, even after all these years, I still just adore this guy.
^ I was just starting my favourite characters meme. Wow, that doesn't seem that long ago!
2013: Well, I knew there was a reason I thought I should perhaps wait for tonight's episode to air before getting too much further on the next chapter of Between the Sun and the Moon (my Caroline/Klaus fic). Fascinating episode for them and I know Julie Plec said the next episode would be as well!
^ Hmmm, I wonder which episode that was? I will look it up! It was "Into the Wild," the one where most of the characters are on the island in Nova Scotia, while Caroline and Tyler hang out with Klaus. So yeah, that was a pretty massive one for the Caroline/Klaus ship!
2012: As mentioned before, I have been surprisingly busy of late, despite having very few hours at the store. I've went into work with Mom 3 days last week and today this week, to do various stuff on a freelance basis, I guess. It's been interesting, though today's work consisted mostly of punching holes in cardboard flowers. It was riveting.
^ Oh god, the cardboard flowers. I think my wrist finally forgave me but it took a long time.
2011: Interesting morning today. I was at Zeller's picking up a prescription and got to talk about side effects, including lovely things like blood clots. Then, as I'm paying, I begin to feel really queasy, as happens often enough when discussing things like blood and inner bodily functions. I'm trying to power through it and finish the transaction when I close my eyes. When I open them, I'm lying on the floor.
^ Ah yes, the day I fainted in Zeller's. That was interesting. I can get a bit queasy about things sometimes and I usually sat down pretty fast when it happened, but this time I didn't. Bad strategy, apparently.
2010: Sigh. This weekend has really sucked. I've generally just been depressed about Shannon not being here (not to mention concerned about the family emergency that kept her from coming because her family is my pseudo-family) and very unmotivated to do ANYTHING. I did get my contest story typed up and the first round of editing is underway but...I just feel lousy. And I'm having trouble snapping out of it.
^ The first entry to actually be on Feb 9th. I uh ... don't really know what else I'm talking about. The story is probably "Under the Upside-down Moon," which I submitted to a contest run by the Toronto Star. I don't recall what was going on with Shannon and her family though. Which is probably a good thing, since whatever the emergency was, it got cleared up.
2009: Hurrah for streaming sites getting BSG eps up fast. I have now seen the latest episode, oh wow!
You know, the worst thing about BSG is that no character is ever really safe. Because seriously, BSG will kill people, even main characters, just randomly!
^ This would have to be about the episode "Blood on the Scales," part two of the mutiny storyline. Pretty awesome episode. Not quite sure I agree with my own second statement, though the show certainly made you think it at the time.
2008: You know what is AWESOME? Using one computer with two monitors. I'd never done it until the last time I was at Wiley, but I am in love.
^ Yes, this is awesome! And I really miss having two monitors at home (the HDMI port on my computer is acting up and I haven't had the time/money to go out and buy a new graphics card so I can replace it).
2007: So, it's Friday afternoon/evening/night/whatever...and my big plans are to play the Sims 2 and maybe watch some Sailor Moon with Margaret. Oh yeah, I live the highlife!
^ I don't know, that sounds pretty good to me!
2006: DUDE. Margaret does not know who Heath Ledger is.
^ Geez, I made FIVE ENTRIES this day. FIVE. WTF. I picked this one because it amused me the most. And then made me sad, because when I wrote this he was still alive.
2005: So it's 2:30AM and I have to be up for my 9:30 classes. So why am I still awake? Good question. If you have an answer, let me know -_-
^ I'm pretty sure the answer is that I was a university student and that's what university students do. So yay, I let myself know ... 10 years after the fact.
2004: Well, I'm slightly less annoyed with the HTML assignment, as I just found out I have less linkage to do than I had thought. I now have 6 out of 15 pages visually made, though the links are not yet set up, and I still have some formattting (sic) issues to deal with. Will work on that more tomorrow. I also have to help Jodie.
^ As annoying as the computer science class in university was (the professor was just terrible and I have about 5 entries ranting about this project), I am glad I took it because a lot of the things I learned then I still use. Mainly the HTML coding. Pretty sure I wouldn't find this assignment all that difficult today.
Well, that was quite interesting. Though there were a lot of negative entries to get through but February is probably my least favourite month. I did actually mention in an entry I didn't put here that I could understand why it is "suicide month" in university, which is why that's when Reading Week is.
Back when there was only one Reading Week. It would have been nice to have two, even if you never really did all that much reading.
