Update from inside the computer lab
Mar. 2nd, 2004 04:26 pmYes, I am in my computer lab while I write this. We are working on Quattro Pro. I know the basics of spreadsheets already, and with my handle on basic math I am finding it really easy. Thus...I am bored.
So, today I did some work on my website. Got the four new pics that I did over Reading Week up. I was having a lots of fun experimenting with the chibi form, and then the new art supplies my mother bought me for my birthday. I love my new watercolour pencils. They are great!
The first of these pics is Chibi Quatre. I did this waiting in the airports at Moncton and Montreal, on my way home at the beginning of the break. I think it is just adorable. His head is a bit bigger than the source image, but with chibis, that is allowable.
Second pic is Priestess Miaka. This was my first drawing done with the watercolour pencils. I originally had planned to paint this image using Chinese paints on rice paint, but it wasn't working because I didn't have anything close enough to the pink. Oh well, I may try that again. I was quite happy with how it turned out, especially the fabric. A good first attempt, though far from perfect.
Third pic is Earthtones Chichiri. This was an experiment with my new, earthtone coloured pencils. Apparently he looks a lot like the manga Chichiri. I don't know, having not really seen much of the Fushigi Yuugi manga. I think he looks kinda cool. I have no idea if the scar is the right shape though, as I couldn't really see it in the source pic.
And finally, probably my fav of the drawings, The Fushigi Yuugi Twins. The twins, Suboshi and Amiboshi, are my second and third favourite characters in FY (Miaka is #1). I really like how this one turned out, though the twin on the left certainly turned out better. And yes, I'm being intentionally vague about which twin that is. Cookies for anyone who can tell me correctly which twin is which (Margaret'sKatie already got it right, so I know that it can be done, which makes me feel great because I was able to draw them just slightly differently!).
Well, that's basically the biggest highlight of the day, except for the fact that I didn't have an Anthropology class today, which was just great, because I just LOATHE that class. The only good part of it is that I am currently sitting at a 92% in it. Was so nice to attempt and sleep in, though Sarah did wake me up around 10.
So, that's all I have to say for now. Hopefully Margaret will let me watch an ep or two of Gravi tonight, though I'm not holding my breath about that since she has a midterm tomorrow I think, and she is a very studious person. So hopefully I can work on getting more up on my site. Yayness.
