My Fan Fiction
Apr. 7th, 2004 03:18 pmWell, I was talking to Rosa last night (big surprise), and we happened to get into the discussion of the many fan fics we are currently working on. And the many plot bunnies we have lying in our future. It was also decided to put an entry in our LJs in which we list our current WIPs (works-in-progress) and what I like to call the "fics-in-waiting".
So...here are mine.
WARNING: This update includes some spoilers for the various fandoms I am active in (mainly Gravitation and Fushigi Yuugi and Digimon)
WORKS IN PROGRESS
Multi-chapter Fics
Healing: This fic, for the Trigun fandom, focuses on my favourite character from that series, Knives. I don't know what it is, but I seem to always favour the bad guys. Unless they are are Nakago-creepy.
Anyway...this fic is set after the series ends, and deals with Knives being cared for by a "mysterious young woman" named Ophelia (gotta love the mysterious woman! =P). It basically tells about how Knives gains a new view on humanity (cause the one he has right now kinda sucks)
This fic had 2 chapters left, plus an epilogue.
FAMILY-SAFE
Liminal: This is my Star Wars fic, which I think is rather interesting. It is a collection of monologues by the Solo twins, Jaina and Jacen, set between the Young Jedi Knights series and the New Jedi Order.
This fic deals with the drastic character changes that Jaina and Jacen go through in the course of the 6 months between serieses.
This fic has either 2 or 4 monologues left, as well as a final, non-monologue chapter.
FAMILY-SAFE
Absence of Fear: This is my first fic for the Gundam Wing fandom, and it focuses on the changing relationship between the two characters Quatre Raberba Winner and Trowa Barton.
I'm just going to take a moment to point out that Trowa and Quatre are the characters in my default icon, and Quatre is in the temporary significant other icon being used for this post ^_^ I love Quatre!

Braided Lives: Braided Lives is my Digimon fic. Digimon is a fandom that is very near and dear to my heart, because it was one of the first animes I truly loved (the first would be Sailor Moon...despite the evilness of the dub).
This fic deals with the relationship of my two favourite characters, Sora and Matt/Yamato. I was SO happy when they actually became a couple on the show, though I have to admit, I never saw it coming. Anyway, Braided Lives is my fic that tries to explain why in the last episode it is clear that they have children together, yet they do not seem to be a couple (they aren't shown beside each other, while Ken and Yolei/Miyako are).
This fic has probably 6 more chapters to go. I'm not 100% certain though.
FAMILY-SAFE
The Fic Currently Known as "Shippyness": I am currently working on the first chapter of this fic for the Fushigi Yuugi fandom. It is devoted to my favourite pairing (or ship) in that series, Suboshi/Yui. And yes, I realize they are not really a couple, but I love them anyways.
This fic is going to explore their changing feelings towards each other during different events in the series.
I have NO idea how many chapters will be in this fic.
FAMILY-SAFE
Well, those are the multi-chapter fics I am currently working on. I would just like to let people know that, since I am trying to give them all equal attention, I will write one chapter for one, then move on to another, until finally they have all been updated once, and then I got back and start the cycle again. So updates may not be fast in coming, but there is a good reason behind the delay.
The order I update the fics in is: Healing, Liminal, Braided Lives, Absence of Fear, Shippyness.
I hope to have both Healing and Liminal done fairly soon, and I may actually forgo this order to do so, since both fics are over half-way done.
And now time for the...
One-shots
Crushed By Her Own Weight, aka the story of Chichiri/Hou Jun's Ho: Ok, first of all, the aka title is a joke of mine, because I have been calling all the female characters in FY as someones ho lately. Except for Miaka. Miaka is NO ONE's ho *huggles Miaka*...*pauses for Rosa to laugh*.
Anyway...this story is part of my FY Obscure Characters Series that started with Kaa-sama (which is discussed below). It tells the story about the fiancee of Chichiri/Hou Jun, who we hear of briefly in the series and in more depth in the second OVA. For some reason, with FY it is the minor characters that seem to really interest me, and you will be hearing more about this as I have potentially three other one-shots in this series planned.
The second draft of this fic is currently being written. It will then be sent off to Rosa to beta, and then posted. I expect this to be done later in the week.
FAMILY SAFE
Seeing Double: This is my INSANE crossover fic with the fandoms of Gundam Wing and Gravitation. It is basically written to have Quatre and Tohma (aka the EVIL QUATRE CLONE) meet...and more =P.
This fic is half serious, and half not. I actually did put some thought into making the crossover work, and I plan to write it well. But...it really is just insane, and cannot be taken completely serious.
The first draft of this fic has been started, though since I no longer have boring classes in which to work on it, I may just go right ahead and type in on the computer, like I usually do, rather than finished the paper and pen draft.
DEFINITELY NOT FAMILY-SAFE
Those are the two one-shots I'm working on. Work on these is interspersed with work on the multi-parts, but I hope to have these two both done in the near future.

Re-works
Confessions of the Firstborn: This is my baby as far as fan fiction goes. I just adore this story, and the main character, Lucia Malfoy, the older sister of Draco Malfoy. (Obviously for the Harry Potter fandom)
While I do love this fic, I realize that my writing style has changed dramatically in the last year, and thus I have decided to re-write the fic somewhat, changing the lines that I cringe at when reading it now.
I don't know how long this re-working process will take, as I work on it periodically when I'm in the mood. Also, more work is required in the later chapters, as I have major changes in story to make (ie, I'm taking out the fanon that the Head Boy and Head Girl have a shared Common Room).

Kaa-sama: I am also re-working my one-shot Fushigi Yuugi, because I plan to enter it in the AnimeNorth fan fiction contest, and thus want it to be the best it can.
This was the first fic from the Obscure Characters Series, and honestly wrote itself one night. I'm not going to tell anymore about it's plot, except to say that it does deal with something raised in the last episode of the series, so HERE THERE BE SPOILERS.

FICS-IN-WAITING
Multi-chapter
For the Vision of Escaflowne fandom: I have one fic planned for Esca, since the state of that fandom really makes me cry. I don't have much more than a basic idea, but I do know that I will try to have some sort of resolution to the relationship of Van and Hitomi.
For the Fushigi Yuugi fandom: I have a few fics planned for the FY fandom. Two of them are AU fics (Alternate Universe), which I find rather odd, considering I typically loathe AU fics. But these will be the good "What If?" type of AUs, so I think it should be ok.
The first of these is an AU where Miaka drinks the forgetfulness potion when given to her by Amiboshi. The second one, which isn't a totally serious idea, mainly I'm considering it to piss Rosa off, is a AU in which Suboshi defeats Tamahome in their final battle (because, REALLY, Tamahome shouldn't have been able to, seeing as he didn't have his powers at the time).
I also plan to do a FY background story for the most hated character in the series, Mayo. I seem to be the only person who DOESN'T loathe her, and I feel she deserves some recognition. I also want to pair her up with Keisuke in the end ^_^
For the Gravitation fandom: I have two past fics planned for this, dealing with the two characters whom I believe are the most messed up (well...other than Yuki, but we already know why he's so screwed up). These characters would be Tohma Seguchi and Ryuichi Sakuma.
The Tohma fic is going to stay on-hold for a little while, until I have read more of the manga.
One-shot
For the Harry Potter fandom: I plan on writing one more fic in the HP fandom, before basically becoming inactive in it, at least for the present. I will be writing stuff for the JC House Cup (which Slytherin just won, FYI!!!!) and I will continue work on Possession, but other than that I will not be doing any HP related fic.
This one-shot, which shall be entitled Dreading Tomorrow, is the sequel to Dreading Tonight and Dreading Today. I don't really know what is going to happen in this fic, except it will give some sort of resolution to the relationship of Hermione and Draco.
This series is SEMI-FAMILY-SAFE...just know that it does have Hermione and Draco in a romantic relationship that begins with a one-night stand.
For the Gundam Wing fandom: I have a one-shot lemon featuring Quatre and Trowa, that is centered around my favourite GW manga, Battlefield of Pacifists, which not only gives some very cute 3x4 moments, but also actually has coverage of ALL FIVE pilots, rather than just Heero. Or, as I like to call him, BAKA!!!!
This fic will NOT be FAMILY-SAFE
For the Fushigi Yuugi Obscure Characters Series: I am debating what other characters to write about, and currently am considering three: Hotohori's Ho...I mean, Houki; Kourin, Noriko's little sister; and Shouka, Mitsukake's Ho =P.

And, FINALLY, that is it.
So, as you can see, I have enough fan fiction planned to last me a life time. And that's on top of the original fiction I want to work on!
