Dec. 23rd, 2004 08:51 pmSpent the day with Shannon today, which was nice. Had a bit of fun trying to get into the doctor's for her appointment because her sister, who was going to drive her in, decided to be her same old, unreliable self and refuse to do it. Luckily Mom had gotten home and she was able to drive us in, though it meant she had to go another hour without lunch.
It was an interesting appointment. Got to fill out a lot of paperwork and get to know the stuff you need to think about when pregnant (I never realized where to deliver was such an important thing, but it was the first question asked). We also did get to hear the baby's heartbeat, even though there was a good chance that it wouldn't be audible yet. Very cool. We even tried to record it on Shannon's palmpilot, so she can email it to her boyfriend. The recording wasn't all that good, but I think you can hear it for a moment.
Got my present from her: a necklace with 20 saphires @_@. I have to admit, I was rather shocked when she told me they were real. It made me really wish I had spent more on her present, even though I never spend too much more than $10-20 on any one present (excepts perhaps for my parents) because I just don't have that sort of money. It's a very gorgeous necklace, though the chain it came on is really too long. But I have other ones, so it's all good.
Hopefully I will see Meredith tomorrow, I'm expecting her to call soon so I better get offline ASAP...stupid dial-up >.<
