Been busy the last couple of days. On the weekend was the two performances of our play at church, which went pretty well. And then I went up to Shannon's cottage for her birthday party, which was also fun. Put all this together and you do get a very tired Vicki though.

And then there was work yesterday and today. Today in particular felt really blah to me for no definable reason. I'm taking tomorrow off though, which will be nice.

Dad and I just watched the first two episodes of Defiance. Not loving it quite yet but it has potential. It's at least worth watching for a few more episodes to decide. We also got caught up with Orphan Black. Sadly though ... I accidentally deleted the new Who episode instead of the episode of Big Bang I was trying to delete last night. But I'm going to see if Shannon is around tomorrow and, if she is, I'll bring my netbook over there and torrent it, since Space doesn't seem to repeat the Who episode when it repeats Orphan Black.

I also haven't figured out how I want to answer the next day of the Vampire Diaries meme. I'll deal with that tomorrow.

Just got home from dinner and dancing with Shannon and Alison so too tired for memes. Had a blast though, definitely worth the month-long wait (it was a birthday celebration).

Also bought The Walking Dead game because I've heard such good things about it. Very excited to play it ... maybe tomorrow.

The wedding was beautiful, Shannon was very happy and that makes all the craziness and frustration worth it in the end.

Now I must sleep because I'm working from 11-5:30 tomorrow and then have a staff meeting from 6-10 (but probably not actually later than 9). Need to talk to Vero about her scheduling me on a Sunday -_-

Under an hour left until the shower happens. At the moment, we are expecting 10 people (originally hoped to maybe get 3x that many but time crunch didn't allow it). I think everything is going to go well, it's not going to be a big thing but it will be fun and nice and stuff. Hopefully. Sigh.

I also finished reading Mockingjay today. Not quite sure how I feel about the ending yet, though I am not 100% happy with the handling of Finnick, who ended up becoming my favourite character (though this is a cast where I love almost everyone, only real exceptions would be Gale, who I'm ambivalent about, and Snow who was okay as a villain but not great, though he improved at the end ... and in the movie he is Donald Sutherland and thus I must love him there.) All and all though I really do love that a book series like this was written for the teenage demographic because it's complex and challenging, more so than what you usually get in YA.

I really want to see the movie again, now that I've read the books and have a better appreciation and understanding of the world.

In other movie news, I have not seen the Avengers and am still not sure when I will. I'm sure I'll like the movie but the characters are just not ones that really excite/interest me that much. So it will probably be a rental down the lines though who knows, really.

Finally, OMG Jamie Bamber is coming to Ottawa Comic Con, which means I can get another signature for my BSG cast picture. And it's from one of the actors I was most worried about tracking down too, seeing as he is British and all (my other main worry naturally is James Callis, for the same reason, though at least he hasn't gone off to start in British television like Jamie).

Very excited for the con. Just need to survive the shower first.

Shannon and I went to see Rent last night as Mom bought me tickets for my birthday but didn't want to go with me herself (it's not her type of show really). It was really awesome to finally see the stage show and how much the movie changed. The main thing which freaked me out is that Seasons of Love isn't at the beginning and I sort of wish it was. The movie took a lot of liberties when it came to the song order.

As far as this production went, it was definitely a good show. Standouts were Mimi, Joanne, and especially the girl who was Maureen because I honestly think she was as good as Idina Menzel and that's impressive. I was talking to Shannon about it and we both agreed that Over the Moon has got to be an intimidating song to perform and she did it spectacularly. I wish Maureen was actually IN more of the show.

We also did a bit of shopping, mostly wedding related. I also bought new pillows because two of the ones I had were probably once white but now are very much now (though some of that definitely was caused by the cases they were in ... but they are also probably 10-15 years old).

Today is going to be a bit busy. Church in the morning and then I have to book it out of there to get to work for 12. There is a visual change tonight so everyone is working but I was able to get my shift changed so that I could go to family dinner tonight, since it's birthday celebration week and I didn't really want to miss it. I'll be away from home for a long time though, almost 12 hours. At least I don't work tomorrow. Or the next day, though I need to figure out when I should go out to Jean's since I am working Wednesday.

I spent the day with Shannon, which was super nice. We haven't spent enough time together for awhile, especially not just the two of us. We went shopping for some interview wear for her. I also finally tracked down vol 12 of the Ouran Host Club manga, which means I can finally read vol 13-15 (I don't know how I ended up 4 volumes behind the current release!). I love that series so much.

I also got some new work shoes. Apparently the dress code is going to be drastically changing later this month (going to company provided t-shirts paired with jeans ... JEANS!) but the Regional and District Managers (who were in our store the other day because we had a big executive visit) assured me that black shoes will still be it. So I could safely buy new ones.

I may have gotten some other stuff too but I don't think I was excessive. I've been trying to be better about spending because of cut hours, though at least things work out so that I can spit some paycheques between two months.

Not much else to report. I really need to do some writing tonight, I have one deadline I missed by SO much because the story has been giving me a lot of trouble (I don't know if I'm quite allowed to mention what this story is for yet, though a few of you do know already).

I'm off again tomorrow and I'm planning on pretty much staying in the whole day to get my entire non-workday checklist done. Wish me luck!

OH, two more things:

1. Katie will be excited to hear that Shannon and I both bought some stuff from David's Tea and had a great time, the guy at the counter was really nice and friendly and knowledgable and we both definitely will be back.

2. I got my left ear re-pierced because the old hole had closed up pretty much entirely (the woman actually couldn't even find the front part of the hole, though I swear it's still there somewhere). So I have little studs I have to wear for 6 weeks, then I have to keep earrings on for the next month or so to keep it open. Fun times.

So, social plans keep changing. Shannon's car broke down, which means she won't be here until at least tomorrow but she might also be going to visit Julie first which means...well, I don't know yet. We'll see if she actually gets here.

As I told her on the phone (and it's sort of hilarious that she got this without an explanation), she does seem to be trying to be the new Kate. Hurrah for the universe just not wanting me to be social, period!

In other news, today is the first day that the store is closed for the move (we re-open on Friday in the new location...did I mention here that we were moving? I'm not sure). Which means no uniform, hurrah. Also, during my break (which I need to have at 5:30) I am going to pick up a shirt that was put up for sale over at [livejournal.com profile] toronto. Good times.

Another day in Ottawa. Today I get to make sure I still know how to drive when I go for my Dentist appointment (and to make a tip deposit...also I shall see how much I got paid from Tim's, since it is pay day!). Then I'm going in to pick Mom up at work and we'll go look for the right fabric for my costume again...but first it's off to the COMIC BOOK SHOPPE! Yay! I'm really hoping that they shall have a copy of Paradise Kiss 4, since I really want to get it and ordering online might not work, unless Chapters has changed things...but I still want to get something from my favourite store in Ottawa while I can.

Going over to Shannon's tonight when she gets off work (or when I call her at ten after she spazzes out and forgets). TATTOO TOMORROW WOW!

So, just got back from "shopping" with Shannon and Samantha. Shopping used in the loosest terms, since we only ended up with one thing, the third Shopaholic book for me. But it was much fun, so yay.

I'm on my own tonight, which means I'm living in my room, on IRC and whatnot, because there isn't anything else.

My goal for tonight is to avoid eating for a few hours (I can drink lots of water while that happens though) and then I can have a bagel. I have been slipping on the eating thing (and have completely slipped on the exercise thing ;_;). It's not good.

Well, that was interesting.

I got MSNed by Shannon, asking if I had a thermometre for measuring body temperature. If so, could I bring it over.

So I did. She's been feeling rather sick-ish and had been talking to a nurse on a health line and they said that if her temperature was above a certain point to come in.

Anyway, to make a long story short, they think she has an infection or something so she went with her mom and Samantha into the hospital to have it looked at. Hopefully she'll be feeling better soon.

Of course, just as they were going to set out, baby needed to be changed and fed. Silly baby.
