Name your favorite anime or manga and give a reason or two why it's your favorite.
Sport: Honestly, I've really only read one, Crimson Hero. So I guess that gets the spot. I enjoy it enough, though it's a title I will only read within the pages of Shoujo Beat, unlike NANA and Absolutely Boyfriend which I am buying in collected volumes as well. It's interesting enough.
Historical: Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden. This is probably my favourite of all Yuu Watase's manga, though of course I've only read 3 volumes of it. It's just doing many different things than her other stuff and you can see how much she's developed since the original FY.
Yaoi: It's not really yaoi, but Gravitation has to get this spot, both the anime and the manga. I think overall the anime is more consistent, but the manga has better characterizations by far. But it was my first taste of shounen-ai and it has some really great moments, even if it also has a bunch of not-so-great ones as well.
Yuri: Um...I haven't really read any, so um...I shall count Sailor Moon in here because my favourite part of it is Haruka and Michiru, who are very mucch not counsins XD I just love their dymnamic together as well as their own personalities.
Not-yaoi-but-they-should-so-be-doing-each-other: Um...not really sure what to say about this one.
Romance: I'll give this to Mars, because it's really the only manga I've read that I would really list as "romance," at least primarily (I debated going with Imadoki, but it just didn't seem to fit the genre). Mars, like Gravi, has it's ups and downs, but I really do adore it, though obviously some places more than others (that first volume is still so awesome, I don't know how many times I've read it).
Magical/Fantasy: Fushigi Yuugi. I love this series so much, even if I know it's not the greatest thing in the world. I think it's because it draws you in despite not being masterpiece incarnate that really gives it it's charm. I can never get enough of FY.
Epic (it goes on and on and on!): I don't usually like epics and try to avoid them like the plague, but since it seems to be headed that way, I'll put NANA in here. Because I love it, even if it does look like it will be longer than I prefer my manga to be.
Surprise (didn't think you'd like it but you did): Nothing, to be quite honest. I'm pretty good at telling what I'm going to like and what I'm not.
Action (non-SciFi): Trigun. Because it's awesome, so much that it got me back into anime. Great cast, great story, great pretty much everything, I don't see what more you can ask for (plus it's one of the few anime that I'd say has pretty much universal appeal).
Mecha/SciFi: Gundam Wing will have to get this, because honestly nothing else I watch fits. And I do like GW, even if I vastly prefer the fandom to the actual show itself, because I feel that they really didn't utilize the full potential of the supporting cast, opting instead to focus on three characters who I don't particular care for (Relena, Heero, and Zechs...I like the former too much more by the end though...and Zechs is okay when he's around Noin XD)
Horror: Again, due to lack of options, I think I'll put Angel Sanctuary in here, because I'm enjoying it so far at least. Still only have 2 vols though and no soul consumption at the moment.
OMG the Crack: Excel Saga. I need to see more of this anime, SO much. I could go for more of the manga, but I prefer the anime's humour on a whole.
All-time Favorite: Manga: Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden Anime: Fushigi Yuugi
Sexiest Anime Character EVER (male or female): Male: Rei Kashino from MARS, Female: Michiru Kaioh from Sailor Moon (more pretty than sexy, but whatever)
So, there's pick-up soccer tonight at 7 so I had better get going. I spent some of the afternoon working on clearing out computer files, starting with some AMVs. I'm going to go through all my music soon and see what I can part with there. But right now, it's soccer time!
