I feel a bit better about the one case, given that she was 12 but still, gah, Afghanistan still exists people!

Yeah, definitely more understandable but I'm surprised she tried to look it up first and didn't find anything, either. I remember exactly where I was when I first heard the war declaration on Afghanistan almost as well as when I first saw the WTC on fire.

Yeah, that was more surprising, since she researched enough to figure out when Iraq started.
