God, I just tried to write a filter on top of this post.

Time for the wedding pictures! I meant to get this up yesterday but got distracted by book club and the Lost premiere.

Anyway, here are pictures that my mother took before, during, and after the ceremony (which was absolutely beautiful).

^ Here was the set up for the ceremony. It was a beautiful day. We had been worried that it would be too windy because the last couple days had been but it did calm down just in time.

^ This was where the reception was held, just up the stairs from the above picture.

^ Sarah and my Uncle Norm walking down the aisle.

^ My cousins/Sarah's sisters Laura (on the left) and Brooke, the bridesmaids.

^ The first kiss as a married couple ♥

^ Part of the ceremony was this interesting sand thing. There were two containers of sand, one blue, the other uh, sand coloured, and then another one that was empty. To represent their lives becoming joined, they took the two containers and mixed them together in the empty one (which presumably they got to keep).

^ Sarah and Cliff walking back up the stairs. Great shot of the back of Sarah's dress which I particularly liked.

^ The wedding party. On the end is David (Laura's husband) who is holding his and Laura's son, Caelum (who was the ring-bearer and actually did hold onto the cushion on the way down, gripping things is definitely not a problem with him). Next you have Laura, then my Aunt Janice, Sarah, Cliff, Norm, Brooke, and Derek, Brooke's boyfriend.

^ My parents, me, and the newlyweds.

^ Janice, Laura, and Brooke show off their feet. Since the ceremony was held on top of the sand, they had to go barefoot so this fancied things up a bit. Not sure what Sarah was wearing (or at least I can't remember).

^ The reception had a mariachi band!

^ This is Carlos, one of the most awesome staff members and the bearer of many, many shots of tequila that night. But I figure it's okay to be drunk at a wedding...as long as the bride and a fair number of the guests are too.

^ Cutting the cake (the flower petals had to be weighed down with glass beads because they kept blowing away).

^ The first dance.

^ This picture didn't turn out that well, obviously, but it's of the drummers who performed for a bit who were also awesome because drums are cool, plus they had some fun tricks as well, mainly including having water on the drums and then beating them with illuminated sticks, which then made the water glow. It was super neat.
And that is it! It was indeed a lovely time. I know I complained about the hassle/cost of the whole destination wedding (and I still wouldn't choose it for myself because you have to sacrifice who will actually attend and stuff), it really blew anything you could do in Canada out of the water on a purely aesthetic level. And it really was lots and lots of fun.
