Bah! I completely forgot that I wanted to start a new thing here, where I put together a little newsletter about my various fandom things. So uh, here is what I was up to in fandom during January 2013:



ONE-SHOTS:

I posted two one-shots last this month! Awesome, I had forgotten about the first one being in January. I also discovered that A03 really likes The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

Red and Silver Bells
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries (TV)
Summary: Written for the Damon & Elena Holiday Exchange 2012 for the following prompt: Elena's lost the meaning of Christmas. She refuses to celebrate because of everyone she's lost... including herself. But through a series of adventures, Damon helps her remember exactly why Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Any rating is perfectly fine, but happy Delena is a must!
Favourite line: "Which really wasn't that long ago, if she thought about it rationally, but ration and Elena were not exactly on good terms these days."

Snickerdoodles
Fandom: The Lizzie Bennet Diaries
Summary: After talking with Lizzie in Episode 81, Bing thinks about his relationship with Jane and another time when Darcy interfered in his love life.
Favourite line: "Augusta looked up at him and grinned, turning rage into butterflies in an instant."


MULTI-PARTS

I also posted chapters for all three of my current multi-part fics, which is exactly what I want to be doing!

The Mistress, Chapter 7: The King and I
Fandom: Dragon Age Origins
Summary: Elissa Cousland, the favourite of King Cailan, finds herself thrown from the political arena into something completely different as the coming Blight changes her world forever. Starts with Cailan/Elissa, eventual Alistair/Elissa.
What happens in this chapter: Elissa gets to Ostegar, reunites with Cailan, and runs across Alistair sassing a mage (hence my oh so clever title).
Favourite line: "Elissa shook her head slightly but started walking, knowing the only way that was likely to happen would be if her new companion learned how to keep his mouth shut."

Between the Sun and the Moon, Chapter 1
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries (TV)
Summary: Klaus finally agrees to leave town but on one condition: Caroline has to go with him.
What happens in this chapter: Caroline leaves Mystic Falls with Klaus and goes on a New York shopping spree, vampire-style.
Favourite line: " I suddenly remembered the moment that put this all in action – my proudest moment and my greatest regret."

Confessions of the Firstborn (new version), Chapter 1
Fandom: Harry Potter (wow, that's weird!)
Summary: Years after Voldemort's defeat, Draco decides the time has come for him to look into the life of one of the most mysterious members of his family: his older sister. This is a re-write of the original Confessions of the Firstborn story, which can be found on FF.Net.
Favourite Line: "Inside, the air was thick and stale, full of dust and memories."


CHALLENGE/EXCHANGE SIGN-UPS

Because I am crazy, I have signed up for TWO BIG BANGS. Well, sort of. I'm signed up for both villainbigbang and heroinebigbang but will be doing the Mini Bang option for both (5,000 word minimum). The deadline for both are the same: June 30th, which hopefully is enough time.

For the Villain Big Bang, I will be writing a fic for Disney's 101 Dalmatians, about the peculiar friendship between Cruella and Anita (this story had occurred to me right before I found out about the bang and fit so perfectly that I had to sign up).

For the Heroine Big Bang, I will be writing an AU fic for The Hunger Games where Rue wins instead of Katniss (this story has been in my head for even longer, since I had a conversation about another Rue-centric fic I'm working on with my cousin).



AND THAT IS ALL FOR JANUARY!

Wow ... that was a lot longer than I thought. I suddenly feel awesome and productive (and then I remember my original fiction and that feeling goes away =P)
