So, I got a bit distracted from this by life and such. So let's just finish up the categories I wanted to talk about with one last post.
This ons is fairly obvious: getting hired full-time when my internship was done. My life has just transformed so much, now that I actually have started a real career, and I can't imagine going back to how things used to be.
Plus I do actually really like the job and the people I work with. Even if I am slowly becoming a techie who thinks IP addresses can sometimes be cool.
Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?
This one was just really fun to write and I really loved making the fake texts and using their images as part of the fic, even if it ultimately meant that I couldn't post it to FF.net. I loved it enough almost wrote a second chapter for it over Christmas, except I could never quite get enough of a plot, plus I've been in another writing slump since the big push in November. But I still keep the door open to continue with this one, though priorities are for my other WIPs.
This one has to go to Klaus, from The Vampire Diaries/The Originals. It has been a pretty crazy time for him and I've really started to appreciate him more, enough that it I was going to redo my 30 Days of TVD again, I think he would beat out Damon for favourite male character. He's just so fascinating and the more I learn about him, the more I want to know. Joseph Morgan is also just so damn expressive, you can just see every emotional play out over his face. Which is particularly interesting since vampires generally are seen as fairly cold, even in TVD's world (though usually only when they have their humanity turned off).
Plus, Caroline/Klaus became my ship of choice and I had a few times this year when I just buried myself in that part of fandom, which hasn't happened since Roslin/Adama.
And that's it! 2013 was a very good year for me and I'm hoping 2014 will be even better. And it will be, if my tarot cards are any indicition (I did a reading for myself and it was the most postive reading I have ever seen ... including having The Sun turn up in my future, yay!).
