So, after re-started teh evil machine (aka my computer), the Internet works again, which is good. I just finished my second proposal for the American History essay without having to step foot in the library. I have a great love for Amazon.Com right now, since I used it to find info on all but one of the books (since it's an annotated bibliography...for the last one, I just guessed what it would be, based on the title =P)

I switched from Bill Clinton (who was too recent, I'm not surprised but I figured it was worth a shot) to looking at WHITE society in the Old South, since it's rather romanticized in pop culture, or eclipsed by the issue of slavery. I'm trying to not get caught up in slavery, though of course it will be an issue. It's just not the only issue.

I'm really hoping this topic works, because I'm getting rather interested in it. Of course, I was rather interested in the last one too.

I don't see any issues with this one though, there seems to be enough info out there for me to make a case ^___^

Oh, the JC House Cup is over, Hufflepuff finally was able to win, go them!

WHITE society in the Old South

!!!!!

Oh yay! If you need any help, please let me know! I did a lot of my undergraduate work on specifically poor whites in the old South, but I ended up reading about all types. Here, I can think of one great book off the top of my head. It's short too - you can read it in an hour or two.

Reed, John Shelton. Southern Folk, Plain and Fancy. Athens, GA: The University of Georgia Press, 1986.
