Mar. 5th, 2007 11:41 amI just got conscripted for the Japanese speech competition because apparently my essay was interesting, despite the many mistakes. This is actually pretty scary, but I think it could be scary in a good way.
I had a big plan to go into the Golden A Cafe and get my linguistics thing done after Japanese class. So I went. There were like, 3 people in the place, none of them sitting together. That makes it a bit hard to study a group conversation.
I'll try again in a few hours. I really want to get this done because I was really late with the last one.

Mar. 5th, 2007 12:33 pmSo, apparently Humber hasn't received my transcripts yet. I have no idea why, since I sent them to OCAS in January and they list them as having been received. At least I finally have a reason for the hold up, now that I'm talking to a different person.
I'm trying not to be worried about this, because it is getting to the point where the program starts in 2 months and I need to make sure that I've done everything I can to get in while still dealing with the schooling I have now.
Edit: Gah, this is frustrating. I called OCAS and first was told that they were not sent out because my high school transcripts were not sent in. This however seemed like a dumb reason so I called back and talked to someone else, who looked into records and saw that the transcripts had been sent but uh...apparently got lost.
So now I'm trying to find a place where OCAS could email Humber so they get the transcripts and I can move on with this application process but of course the two people who I have phone numbers for are not there so I don't have this yet but hopefully I will soon.
This application nightmare was supposed to be done in grade 12 ;_;

Mar. 5th, 2007 09:16 pmI got a fair amount of research done tonight so I think that I will be able to write a decent paper on kabuki and the Meiji Restoration in the next two nights. This is the plan, at any rate.
I didn't manage to get a hold of either of my two Humber contacts today, but I emailed the one woman so hopefully I hear back soon. I'll try calling tomorrow again unless I do hear back before then.
The week of DOOM is seeming more managable now. Maybe. I still have to look into a few things, mainly when my Canadian Women's Lit essay is due if I don't have it in the conference (I'm thinking I don't have time for that, especially now with this speech thing).
