Jun. 16th, 2008 09:46 pmI am confused. I've been using Chapters tracking feature to follow my latest manga order. And it says that it's available for pick-up at a post office. I've never had to pick up the orders before. I also have gotten no card telling me it's there. I don't know exactly what is going on, except that I am annoyed not to have it yet (even though it's only been a week...patience, what's that?)
So, I'm trying to come up with various ways to improve life/make my own life reset button. The main thing is that I really need to stop "multi-tasking without really multi-tasking." This mainly means doing anything at the same time as I'm doing stuff online. Because if the TV is on and I'm on the computer, I'm not really paying attention to the TV. I think that maybe for news and stuff, it might be alright, but not when it comes to watching actual shows.
Mainly I've decided that as far as this project goes, the computer (as things stand) is the enemy. It's a very well loved enemy, but an enemy nonetheless. And so I need to get myself away from it somehow (though not completely, of course). This means things like turning it off (or at least turning off the screen) when I'm watching something on TV. And not just sitting here staring at it, refreshing pages a million times and hoping something has changed.
I also really need to get out of the house. I know this. I've been looking into UTARPA, the University of Toronto's anime club which is open to everyone and meets on Fridays. It looks like it could be really fun and I desperately need to meet people who live in Toronto whom I don't work with, because despite having been in TO for a year, I haven't really done that. Well, there's the people from the course last year, but I really fell out of touch with them (which might change when I see some of them in a few weeks...more on that later).
So yes, that is the plan: use computer less, get out of apartment more.
