Back from a lovely Queensway Esso shift. It never really got insanely busy today. I figure this is because it is the last week of summer and so people are off doing better things than going to work. Wish I could be the same...and yes, I know I just got back, but one week so isn't long enough!

My latest Chapters order arrived just in time, because I have finished re-reading the Shopaholic books (and next week, when my Chapters coupon is good, I'll go buy the 5th because I'm not waiting another bloody year to get it in mass market PB, when the trade is only $15 anyway...also need to get Secret Lives of Bees and Tigana). So now I've read up to 8 in Tsubasa (so woefully behind, but I really didn't get into it until the last few volumes, when more emphasis finally got placed on the overarching plot and less whee, this world is fun~ stuff) and vol 14 of Nodame (which I think means I'm actually caught up with the English release, OMG!). I also started reading Sex with the Queen, which is a companion to Sex with Kings which I read awhile back, recced to me by Lily. So much fun and it's really interesting to look at the contrast between a king's infidelity and a Queen's (though mostly only the Queen consorts, since the ruling Queens could pretty much do what they wanted because the royal bloodline would still be intact regardless).

Also it is very nice of Charles, Camilla, and Diana to have given us a modern version of it to compare to. Very thoughtful =P

I also have vol 9 of Fables, but I didn't bring it with me because it's a bit on the larger size and all.

Anyway, not too much planned for today. Please, Himitsu people (and Margaret, since she knows enough about it to make fun of me), don't laugh at me too much but I've made myself a schedule for my entire week, set up in hour-long blocks which tell me what I have to do. I keep trying all these things to get my life to really work how I want it to be, but so far none of them have stuck. So I'm trying out the Routine (and yes, that's what I've titled it XD).

Thankfully however, I am less strict with myself than the crazy Nallen people are with theirs.

BAH, stupid buses. It took me an hour and a half to get home from work, because I somehow managed to miss the first 80 bus that goes by and it took forever for the next one to appear. And I had to see a few 66's going the other way that I would have loved to be on, even if I did have to get on the subway at Old Mill.

ALSO...stalking my Chapters order is not working because I haven't been updated about it's location since last week. When it was in Vancouver. I'm hoping it's at least in this province by now. I also am hoping that they either leave it at my door, as per usual, or leave me a bloody card saying that it's at the post office.

*shakes fist at public service*

Anyway, I downloaded Honey & Clover 2 so now I can watch it. Or I can watch the first episode of the Japanese live action.

Or I could sleep. It's a toss up :]

My arm muscle is twitching, bah. I hate it when that happens. Thankfully it isn't often (and usually not my arm...my eye likes the twitchy thing much better).

I am so sick of work and I'm only 2 days in. There's no real reason to be sick of it, beyond the fact that I hate my job. Really hate it. BAH.

But at least I'm doing quite well financially this month, between getting my vacation pay (since I missed 2 shifts for the wedding), GST return, tips, and money back reward from Scotiabank VISA. This means I may not be completely out of the market for the Wii Fit right now...and I also am that much closer to buying an iPod, which I decided a few months back that I desperately want (and I want it in green, which at some point became my favourite colour, I'm not sure when!). I am so over the design of my cheap MP3 player which doesn't allow me to easily change between songs that aren't beside each other alphabetically -_-

I also do need to revive my savings after paying for the plane tickets to Moncton and back. Plus I'm trying to open an RRSP because Suze Orman says so. Look at me being all responsible.

And then going crazy and buying a ton of stuff with the rest of my money (I have a Chapters order coming to me, which includes this month's book club selection, though I also took it out from the library the other day when I had to kill time before the book launch). Book club is me and other Himitsu people, for those who don't know. It should be fun (we are reading Neil Gaimon's Anansi Boys this month).

Uh...that's about it. I need to find ways to get myself out of bed when the alarm goes off, instead of just lying there for an extra hour and a half. Because that is LAME (except in cases when I really need sleep, and even then...still somewhat lame).

LJ update page looks weird. Whatever.

Got my package. I biked down to the local post office and picked it up, after Chapters confirmed that it was there. I still don't know why it was there, but whatever. I got some good exercise out of it, so that's a good thing.

So, to celebrate productivity, here's a have-done list!

- groceries
- dishes
- package pick-up
- Okami

I think I'll leave painting for tomorrow, though I really need to get back to work at that. But I've actually been getting some writing done and I want to continue to plug away at things.

Plus I have some shinies to read.

So, work schedule is a bit interesting during the next 24 hours. Originally, I had tonight off because tomorrow I have to go to a Food Handling course from 8-3. But they needed someone to help out at Queensway Esso, so now I get to do a 11-7 shift and then go do the course. So essentially a doubleshift. At least half of it will not be working. And I have the next two nights off.

I slept well and long and hopefully that will make it work.

Also, still nothing from Chapters. No package, no card about picking up the package. I am confused. But I'll deal with it later.

I am confused. I've been using Chapters tracking feature to follow my latest manga order. And it says that it's available for pick-up at a post office. I've never had to pick up the orders before. I also have gotten no card telling me it's there. I don't know exactly what is going on, except that I am annoyed not to have it yet (even though it's only been a week...patience, what's that?)

So, I'm trying to come up with various ways to improve life/make my own life reset button. The main thing is that I really need to stop "multi-tasking without really multi-tasking." This mainly means doing anything at the same time as I'm doing stuff online. Because if the TV is on and I'm on the computer, I'm not really paying attention to the TV. I think that maybe for news and stuff, it might be alright, but not when it comes to watching actual shows.

Mainly I've decided that as far as this project goes, the computer (as things stand) is the enemy. It's a very well loved enemy, but an enemy nonetheless. And so I need to get myself away from it somehow (though not completely, of course). This means things like turning it off (or at least turning off the screen) when I'm watching something on TV. And not just sitting here staring at it, refreshing pages a million times and hoping something has changed.

I also really need to get out of the house. I know this. I've been looking into UTARPA, the University of Toronto's anime club which is open to everyone and meets on Fridays. It looks like it could be really fun and I desperately need to meet people who live in Toronto whom I don't work with, because despite having been in TO for a year, I haven't really done that. Well, there's the people from the course last year, but I really fell out of touch with them (which might change when I see some of them in a few weeks...more on that later).

So yes, that is the plan: use computer less, get out of apartment more.

Alright, fair amount of stuff to do today. It's my last day off until NEXT WEDNESDAY T________T

To-do list!

- rent and watch Juno (SO EXCITED FOR THIS, YAY!)
- groceries
- Value Village
- type up next Braided Lives chapter

I'm really hoping my Chapters order appears today. I will be most upset if it doesn't. I want my pretties now!!!

I have finished my Chobits re-read and wow, I love the series. It's so nice to remember what happens in it again XD

HOWEVER, I must say I could have done with Zima and Gita and their whole storyline. I think it just detracted from what was going on with Hideki and Chi and yeah...they were really superfluous.

But I still love it.

There are a few more series I have that I'd like to re-read. I've been thinking of re-reading xxxHolic up to vol 11. And also I want to re-read Ceres, now that I finally have vol 1 & 2 back (even if poor 1 got attacked by Sansa, silly puppy). But those are both significantly longer than Chobits, so it might take awhile.

Plus I have new manga coming from Chapters that hopefully will get here tomorrow (it was in Mississauga on Friday...yay for being near where Chapters orders come from!). It includes Tsubasa vol 5 (I've decided to continue with that series at least until 6, because Kate says there is a more continuous storyline and so basically this arc will be the make or break point for me, because I'm still not loving the series), Vampire Knight vol 1 (which I've at least mostly read, but would like to re-read in celebration of the anime), Sugar Sugar Rune vol 3, and Gunslinger Girl vol 6, and Welcome to the NHK! vol 6 (which means I will be caught up with the English release for those last two). Oh, and Jes was sending me ES vol...whatever that latest one is, which means I'll be caught up with it too.

I like being caught up with the English release, because it makes me feel like I'm not missing anything and also it means that I can't go out and buy a bazillion books from one series all at once. Currently I have all the released volumes for xxxHolic, Ouran Host Club, Genbu Kaiden, and Sand Chronicles.

Of course, I also have a ton of series that I am significantly behind with. It's actually fun though, strategically planning what to buy next. God help me though if I do fall for Tsubasa now, since last I checked there were 16 volumes released and I'm only at 5.

Yay, I finally can make my last summer Chapters order, hurrah!

I'm getting Godslayer by Jacqueline Carey, since I just finished reading Banewreaker. They aren't as good as the Kushiel books, but still enjoyable fantasy that unlike every other series I'm collecting is currently out in mass market paperback (oh, hardcover/trade paperback, how I HATE you).

Also finally getting ParaKiss 4, since it's back in stock. xxxHolic 2 is coming and I'm getting Ouran Host Club 1.

Very excited. It was more expensive than my usual orders, since the subtotal of 3 wasn't going to get me free shipping, but they are all titles I was going to get eventually, so I can rationalize ^_^
