Hurrah! V has been renewed for another 13 episodes. This is awesome news, thank you ABC (I still love you, even after Pushing Daisies, because I'm still impressed that you took a chance with such an off-beat show in the first place).

Sadly it looks like Flashforward is going away but that might be a good thing, if they can wrap up season one well. I never really thought the show had much staying power for anything longer (without there having to be EVEN MORE flashforwards which would be lame). Must read the book sometime (may make it a book club choice unless I finally got with Kushiel's Dart in order to get Kate to read it XD).

Holy crap! James Callis was just on Flashforward (not sure if I knew he was in it or not). Speaking with an American accent. And being convincing enough that I wasn't sure if it was him or not until IMDB confirmed it.

OMG, how did I never realize that Joseph Fiennes and Ralph Fiennes are brothers? It took a TWoP reference for Flashforward to "big brother Voldemort" for me to figure it out.

Getting caught up with current TV shows, something which is made much easier due to the fact that a few of them have had their fall finales already.

Ryan & Margaret were up for Christmas-ing with Marion and Katie, as well as a good round of the BSG boardgame (the Cylons won AGAIN...but this time I, as SUPER HELO, was a Cylon and so I finally was on the winning team!). Most of them may be back next week, depending on a few plans.

So, time for a look at this week's schedule. I have Monday and Thursday off (I believe Thursday is also the last week of my first screenwriting class, though I do plan to take the Business of Screenwriting course offered in January). Tomorrow I work 11:30-8 (yes, that's an 8 and a half hour shift...which could easily get an extra hour in there since it's also a closing shift). I have the same shift Tuesday but it's not closing during the week so that's better. Then I have 10-6:30 on Wednesday, 10-4 on Friday, and 10-6:30 again on Saturday. So my scheduled hours are back up again which is good.

Re-watching pt 2 of the Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith because it is excellent!

I finally got around to watching the pilot of Flashforward and wow, it is pretty awesome. I'm REALLY unsure how they expect to have the show last more than one season but hey, at least the first one promises good things. You should all go watch it.

My mother says I should write about my screenwriting course more because my journal has been boring otherwise. Thanks for the support, Mom.

The class has been going well so far. It does suffer a bit from the fact that a) it's taught by someone who isn't a teacher professionally and b) it's the first time it's been taught at all. But we are learning some good stuff about how scripts work. Last night we watched two episodes of The Office as we learned more about how a sitcom script is put together. Apparently tags are going out of fashion (a tag is the last scene of an episode that often plays during the credits). Someone should tell the HIMYM writers this since most episodes of that show do have one (though not all).

I've been working a bit on my idea for the series bible project we have to hand-in at the end. I've already scrapped my initial idea, hurrah! I think idea two is a bit better for the project though. The old adage about writing that says you need to know the rules before you are allowed to break them definitely applies here.

Just got back from work today and I'm excited to have an evening off. I need to catch up on some television watching, mostly with Glee, Grey's, and Flashforward. Also Dollhouse premieres tonight, yay Whedon! Smallville does as well but it doesn't quite deserve a yay, really.

And probably some more Lost as well because I only have a few episodes left in season two...so perhaps I should start the download on season three!
