I came back from Toronto early this morning, since I didn't end up having any plans for Monday. It was nice to get home at 2 instead of starting out then.

The internet is being ridiculously stupid. I've been home since 3 and only now am getting a good enough connection to even bother trying to update this thing. Very annoying.

I'm going in with Mom to work tomorrow, should be fun. Or at least profitable.

Final news is not so fun/even remotely happy. My cousin Justin died on Friday night, after a long battle with cancer. Right now there aren't plans for a funeral or anything but that could change. Sort of already said everything I have to on the subject earlier so just sad though also probably happy too for him since I know he'd been feeling really crappy recently. Still, he was too young for this.

So, I'm off to Toronto for a couple of days. Getting there this afternoon and then coming back for Monday evening. I'm bringing my netbook with me but primarily for entertainment on the trip purposes, though at the moment I have a block of time on Saturday when I might just chill in a library or something, not sure yet. Really looking forward to seeing everyone, I really miss the city, much more than I thought I would (well, mostly I miss the subway, lack of public transportation sort of sucks).

Hope you all have a great weekend and Katie dear, I shall see you in a couple of hours, squee!

Exciting news today!

- I just booked my bus tickets to Toronto. I'm getting there at 4:35PM on Friday the 23rd, hope that time is good for teh Katie!

- I got accepted to all three programs that I applied to at Algonquin. Mom said I should be fine as a university grad but I tried not to get too invested. I have until May 1st to decide on a program.

- I bought a new spring jacket that I am in love with!

- THIS IS ALL THE NEWS FOR NOW!

Off for a weekend in TO. Today is the party for my uncle's 50th and then we're coming back tomorrow (supposedly in time for the football at 3). So it's going to be a very quick trip, sadly no time for socializing beyond the family sphere. I'll have to figure out a good time to just go there for a visit, especially now that work hours are cut so I have less things to do during the week (next week I only work Friday and Saturday, so much free time I barely know what to do with myself!).

HOLY CRAP!

I signed up to get updates from the Toronto Star about news and stuff. Lately it's been a lot of World Cup things.

Today, it's been G20, G20, G20! And been making me really happy to NOT be in TO.

And now I just got this gem: Toronto Eaton Centre has declared a lockdown and all the stores in the downtown mall are closing. Officials at the mall are asking everyone to leave through the doors on the Dundas side through Canadian Tire.

Back to real life for me. I arrived back home, to the relief of both of my beasties since neither of them had food and their water was mostly gone. Plus they are attention-starved as well.

It was a very good trip back, the bus was only about half-full so I easily found a seat to myself. I got my hopes up when my computer registered a wireless signal but there was just a signal, no actual internet (probably they turn it on for the longer rides or something). But I got some writing done and then remembered that I have some movies here so I watched most of Stranger Than Fiction again and determined that it does have to go on my to-buy list.

I will be trying to be productive around the apartment for the rest of the day. And then tomorrow I am back to work from 10-5:30 (will also be sure to hit the gym because my attendance has been pretty dreadful these last few weeks). Thursday and Friday I work 5 to close and then on Saturday I have a shift from 10:30-6 and then a staff meeting from 7-10 (so an hour break to get some food in between). Also I think next week's schedule must be up because I had a message about switching a shift on Sunday. So hurrah for that. And tomorrow is pay day!

It was an excellent trip home and I'm so glad that I got to extend it by a few days because my work schedule was actually GOOD for plans for once.

I am back in Ottawa, safe and sound, despite no one actually giving me directions as to how to get from the bus station to my aunt and uncle's house, where I'm staying until my parents pick me up. I walked in the wrong direction for a bit, until I eventually found Bank Street and doubled back. Fun.

Anyway, I came back with some goodies I didn't have before: Gravi 12, FY 15, and Shopaholic Takes Manhatten. This means...I AM DONE COLLECTING GRAVITATION! I HAVE "ALL" OF IT. All used loosely, since Maki Murakami has started working on it again...but I'm sure it will take awhile before an English volume of it is done, so I can say I'm done for now. I really liked the last volume, because it showed how all that really bizarre and rather, well, pretty far-fetched stuff with Rage and everything actually happened and WHY. It also had some really good lines, like "love is never shameful" and what Yuki said to Shuichi about him just being a kid, not an adult who can see the full picture, was rather helpful to me, thinking about my life situation.

So I was very pleased with the ending...and hey, NORIKO CALLED K "K-KUN"! OMG, MY SHIP HAS MORE SUPPORT!!!!! Well, not really...but hey, I can dream =P

Oh, before I forget, while in Toronto, Himitsu was always on my mind. Especially at Lawrence Street and Subway station, Jarvis Street, and at the World's Largest Bookstore (which isn't the world's largest, but whatever), I found Ash's PB staring at me from the cover of XXXHolic (is that what's it's called?). Also, while listening to Margaret's Pretear PB, I kept getting ideas for the songs working on the Himitsu FST (I definitely thinking that "Kids" from Bye Bye Birdie works for Jarvis...or for the entire older cast, meaning Jarvis and Keagen and Nessa...we need more adults @_@ Also, you could have "I'm Just a Kid" by Simple Plan for the younger crew: Rae, Finlay, Prudence, and Patience)

It was fun.

And tonight, I can return to full-on Himitsu participation (which means that it's time to try and get things rolling on forcing Maire OUT of the Denial Club). Yay!

And I can also finally stop ignoring house drama that I didn't want to deal with while in TO. Not so yay.
