Wow, crazy ringette game tonight. I tried out the new goalie pads and stick I bought and liked them but still have things to get used to ... especially the stick since I may have accidently scored on myself =P It was a good game though I really regretted forgetting my water bottle by the end of it.

Busy work week coming up, with almost every day divided between two different jobs. But I actually have a Saturday off for a change, which is awesome. I'm hoping maybe Allison and Meredith are free and we could go to the Van Gogh exhibit.

Also failing at the zombie fic-a-thon fic I'm working on, which was due last week and I got an extension and I procrastinated and it's still not going to be ready. I will make myself finish it tomorrow night.

Okay, well, people who saw my little meltdown yesterday on Twitter already know this but I arrived home from Laura's baby shower to discover that my netbook had spontaneously decided to completely breakdown on me. No idea what happened or why since it was working just fine the night before.

I've got the following error: windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt \windows\system32\config\system

I tried to google it for a fix but everything I find says I need to have the Windows XP disc to fix the registry. I do not have an XP disc, nor does my netbook have a disc drive. So since I have the day off today I think I will bring it into Future Shop. Sadly I'm pretty sure the warranty we got on it is up, though I'll have to doublecheck. Either way, hopefully they can get it up and going again and I can continue work on the Himitsu fic that got sadly trapped on it and couldn't be really worked on or even partially posted last night :(

I don't quite know how this week is going to shape out. I'm only working at the store on Friday and Saturday, Jean's place on Wednesday as usual (as well as another dentist appointment in the morning -_-), but I might go in with Mom tomorrow and Thursday, if there is work to be had. Or not. I wouldn't mind time at home to do some work on my writing. We'll see.

I had a wonderful time this weekend with Margaret visiting. I unexpectedly got the whole weekend off (I booked Saturday but Sunday was an added bonus) so we had lots of time to hang out.

This week's work schedule is a bit unusual because I ended up trading a shift for tomorrow so I'm doing a 2-close cash shift which should be ... interesting. At least it means I have a good chunk of time now to catch up on NaNo since I am woefully behind. I need to write just under 2500 a day to get to 50,000 by the end of it but that is still definitely possible. I just need to focus more and stuff.

At very least, I need to hit 35,000 so I can not be screwed in Himitsu.

Just arrived back in TO. I had a nice day driving and then hanging out for a bit with Shannon but I am very glad to be back.

I only have three shifts this coming week which could be a problem though I might be able to pick something up for Wednesday or Friday morning at least. I have 7-3:30 tomorrow and Tuesday and then a 3-close on Thursday (which sucks because I thought Liz had said something about me not really closing much anymore but then there I am ...)

I probably have to buy some groceries tonight, plus Marian is coming to help fix the flat tire on my bike. Other than that, just hanging for a bit. Maybe cleaning a bit too but I'm tired so maybe not.

Back in TO. All and all the trip was good, though WAY too brief. But hey, such as life. And I am always glad to be home.

I don't think I've posted this week's work schedule. I'm working every weekday, since I had today and next Saturday (aka my birthday) booked off.

Monday: 4-close
Tuesday: 2:30-close
Wednesday: 10-5
Thursday: 10-5:30
Friday: 5-close

Also finally heard back from the lady for my freelancing and thankfully my deadline has been pushed back which means I don't have to be working on it every waking moment that I'm home. Which is good.

Might be going to watch the Oscars at the Bloor Cinema tonight with Marian, might be watching it from home. Not sure either way but I am excited for them because I always enjoy the ceremony.

Hurrah! I figured out how to get my printer working again (it wouldn't align the ink cartridges, possibly because the colour one is empty but the HP website told me how to bypass that stage). This makes life much better (and means that if I need printing done, I can do it in a method much simpler than converting my word file to a PDF and then sending it to Marian XD).

I haven't posted it yet, so here is this week's schedule:

Today: 1:30-close (aka the lame shift that easily becomes 9 hours...which is good for money but less good for everything else).
Tuesday: off (booked it for book club...so I should probably finish reading Dune)
Wednesday: 2-close (I really have been getting a lot of closing shifts recently, not entirely sure why)
Thursday: off
Friday: 4-close (see what I mean?)
Saturday: 12-close (and again!)

God, I can't believe it's March. And I still don't have my Indigo T4. But I do have three paydays!

I was a bit worried that I might have mixed up my schedule for today (I was only 90% sure that I was closing), but it looks like I can rest easy now, because I think they would have called at this point to see where I was.

This means that this week's schedule is as follows:
Monday - 10:30-6:30
Tuesday - 9-5
Wednesday - 9-5
Thursday - 7:30-3:30
Friday - 10:30-6:30

Thanks to wonderful geeky friends, I have a whole lot of titles to look up and investigate and such. The only one I've checked for sure is the Napoleonic Wars with dragons and the store has one copy of the first book. Eaton Centre also has one, and they also have Tigana, so I'll probably head down there one day and buy them both. First I need to finish the books I just bought though.

The Sookie Stackhouse one is fun, though not meeting expectations. It just moves too damn fast. Like, the first chapter basically had the entirety of the first episode of the True Blood tv show in it. Which is a bit ridiculous. I'm halfway through (and the book is probably 200-250 pages) and I've surpassed the point the show is at, after 6 hour-long episode. That's pretty crazy.
