After finishing up work last night, I got a migraine, yay. Who doesn't love spending 12 hours in bed? It's mostly gone but not completely, so I decided to just take the day off work to make sure it doesn't come back.

I've been making progress on my kinkmeme fills, which has been nice. The Blood of Dragons fills should be finished soon, which is exciting because I am looking forward to putting them together into one fic and seeing how much extra work needs to be done. I already realized I need to set up that it's happening alongside Adamant more, so I have a few notes about changes to make. And the two new fills finally have a start posted to them, so the prompter doesn't think I've forgotten about them.

I also have been working on The Right of Annulment a lot. Mainly writing the epilogue, because apparently this is how I roll some days when it comes to writing multi-parts. Meanwhile, chapter 1 is still not quite complete. I haven't decided if I will wait till I have the whole thing written before posting it, or if I will post as things are completed.

I also really need to work on some of my older stuff too, especially Varric's Last Tale since it really is almost all done ... except for a major portion of the next chapter to be posted.

I might try to do some of that this afternoon, since I feel like avoiding being in front of a computer for too long right now is probably a good plan.

I took today off work because I had a doctor's appointment in the morning. It was with an ankle specialist/surgeon, to determine if there was anything seriously wrong with my right ankle.

Backstory! I have always had lousy wrists/ankles. My ankles especially are stiff and crack a fair amount. My right ankle is the worst and back when I was working retail full-time, it got really painful, to the point where my last couple of months in Toronto were spent in the backroom with a chair beside me to kneel my right leg on. And I had a brace bought at the drugstore and lots of Advil Muscle & Joint. So after I moved back to Ottawa, I finally decided it was time to see a doctor about it. That ended in my referral.

Oh yeah, and that was THREE YEARS AGO!!!

Anyway, I had some x-rays done a few weeks ago and saw the guy today. And pretty much he doesn't think there is anything bad enough to justify any drastic action, though he could tell that I toe in from looking at the x-rays, since my bones are aligned in odd ways. Just not odd enough for surgery or anything like that.

He did prescribe me a better ankle brace, which I picked up afterwards. It's interesting, though it's going to take awhile to figure out how to adjust it so that it doesn't cause too much discomfort, while also giving me some support. I'm going to see what it is like wearing it all day and taking it off at night, to see if it's worth it or if I should just use it when I'm going to be standing/walking/otherwise vertical for long periods of time.

On the plus side, I am home now and have nothing pressing to do for the rest of the day. Which means I can finally catch up on fan fic writing and reading, hurrah!

Hello Internet, it's been awhile. How have you been?

I just got back from an extended weekend at the cottage. Good times, though sadly Imriel has decided that swimming is lame. He does like wadding in the water though, so at least there is that.

I'm trying to get myself back into writing too, which the cottage helped with a lot - a story I've been working on for years finally has a complete draft, albeit one that is in bad need of editing. And I almost have a new one-shot fan fic for Orphan Black that I really like and will be posting soon. Then I want to try and get focus back on my poor multi-parters, since they have been neglected. And in August, I go back to the cottage again and I'll be staying two extra days on my own to have a little writing retreat.

Some interesting stuff going on in life lately. I had a physical the other day and my doctor saw enough signs of potential diabetes to get bloodwork done, which showed elevated liver function. So now I get to schedule an ultrasound and see where we go from there, good times.

Not too much else going on, work is keeping me busy plus I have ringette on Monday nights and puppy class on Thursday nights.

The interview went really well, I'm pretty sure I have the placement. I was hoping for an email to confirm things would arrive today but so far, not so much. But we talked about me starting on Monday so I'm trying to stay positive and forget about all the times when I thought I had something only for it to fall through.

Also my head is pounding. I'm actually beginning to think some of my headaches are very mild migraines, after the two not mild migraines I've had. Plus an article in O said that the placement of the pain was migraine-like. So no meme for today after all. I think instead I will probably go to bed early and hope I feel better in the morning.

This week's goal is get food/sleep/workouts/declutteredness back on track. I was slipping hardcore last week (especially the weekend, though it was fun and totally worth it).

Today has not started so well though. I didn't sleep very well last night, so at 9 I had no intentions of getting up. So I didn't get up until 11, which I need to STOP DOING. GOD.

Anyway, need to focus and get stuff done. I have the local paper this week so I can look at the classified, hurrah.

I also have a ton of editing to do, for Shannon (and me) and for Jes. I was supposed to get some of it done yesterday, but watching BSG "with" Margaret distracted me. Oh well, c'est la vie.

As far as the job hunt goes, I still haven't heard back from anyone. Boo. But I'm still hopeful and have a longer list of places to look. I know there has to be something out there that I am qualified to do that I also would enjoy doing!

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THE WICKED SOUNDTRACK. This is like, the only musical ever which I would want to be cast as the lead in, because Elphaba just ROCKS.

I wish it wasn't so recent, because it really does seem quite good for a G&G production, but even if the rights are available (which I HIGHLY doubt) the price of them would be killer ;_;

Oh well, I can live vicariously through the recording.

Yes, it's sad.

Babysitting went well, until I discovered another sore, pretty sure it's also a canker (one wouldn't imagine that I would have both a canker sore AND a cold sore...and I know the one on my tongue is a canker, before cold sores don't occur on the soft tissues inside the mouth). Fun. It's nice to have finally figured out what they were, since I've had the tongue one many times before. Joy.

Lovely. I think I have a canker sore on my tongue. This has happened before, but I never really knew what it was, because I couldn't see it. Annoying thing. Oh well, it will go away soon enough anyway. At least they are contagious, like cold sores.

So, babysitting today. Shall be fun. I hope.

I woke up crazy early and was actually awake, despite staying up later than I should have last night. My body likes me for once, apparently.

Except for the sore, that is not so nice ;_;
