So, I've started watching season four of The Tudors. Only one episode in so far but I'm remembering all the reasons I love this show.

I've also discovered that I am so much more sympathetic to Katherine Howard than I used to be. I think I have The Boleyn Inheritance to blame for that because it really brought her to life for me. Of course, I'm watching Tamzin Merchant extra close because she's playing Dany in the Song of Ice and Fire adaptation...so far I think she's doing a very good job in the portrayal though really, all she has to do is take her clothes off for a lot of it.

I'm extra excited for the end of this season though because of the dream sequence that is going on. I've seen some of the pictures of Anne Boleyn with Elizabeth and it's just...really tragic, actually. And amazing too, because 400 years later these two women are still two of the most fascinating people in history, IMO. I just find it sad that they never really knew each other.

Great series. I will be interesting to see them finally have to make John Rhys Meyers look fat and unattractive (which they really should have done before this point but my eyes are not complaining). And the dream sequence (which features all 6 wives, though two of them were still alive when Henry died) will be awesome.

I just finished season three of The Tudors. It wasn't quite as good as season two but that's entirely due to the lack of Anne Boleyn and so was unavoidable. It did however end with me in tears and cursing Henry VIII, like the second one did, because of the execution of Cromwell. I think we only have two characters from the first season who are still alive: Henry, of course, and Charles Brandon.

But I really, truly despise Henry VIII. Not even so much for the wives, at least not just for them (I think it is really unfair to judge him by modern feminism's standards because that really isn't applicable) but because he basically destroyed almost everyone whom he ever loved.

Despite myself, I'm filled with an awful lot of hatred towards Henry VIII after watching the end of the Tudors season two. I know he had reasons for what he did, that's one of the things I've most loved the series for actually showing, but...the things he did to those who he loved best.

The second season was so good, so so good. Much better than the first, which wasn't half as memorable.

I really don't know what next season will be like though. You've lost Thomas Moore and Anne Boleyn...and gained Jane Seymour though not for long.

I am completely in love with Natalie Dormer though. She is so amazing as Anne. I've said that I really did quite like Natalie Portman as Anne in The Other Boleyn Girl (see the icon), but Natalie Dormer is leagues beyond that performance (though admittedly she has a lot more material to work with).

I want to go to England.
