I was a die-hard Damon/Elena fan for a very long time. I still definitely ship them quite a bit. But they are no longer my favourite couple.



It's actually very unusual for me to have a favourite couple where both characters are also high on my favourites list (#1 and #3, for the record). For example, in Battlestar Galactica, I shipped Adama/Roslin like burning and Laura was my favourite character by a longshot. But, while Bill did end up in my top 10, I didn't love him individually quite as much.

But I love Caroline and Klaus and I absolutely love them together. Or with the promise of being together, which may be what I have to go with for the time being, until we see if the spin-off is successful or not and how much crossover there is between the two shows. But even if that was the last scene we ever got with them (though I hope and pray that it isn't and don't expect it to be either), I would be happy with it. They're vampires, after all. They've got all the time in the world for a crazy, epic, immortal love story for the ages.
