I don't think Tyrion needs much introduction or explanation. He is just that awesome and, given Game of Thrones' crazy popularity, pretty well known for it at this point.

But since I have to say something, here I go. I love Tyrion because he manages to find his own way in a world that he really doesn't fit into at all. I love his loyalty, even to those who don't deserve it. I love that he really managed to turn his cleverness into a weapon. And I love how fascinating and complicated he is, I don't think any other GoT/ASoIaF even comes close to matching him when it comes to complexity.

Plus, major props to Peter Dinklage for just being utterly amazing. When the show started, I had forgotten just how much I loved Tyrion, since I'd just read Feast for Crows, aka the book nothing happened in and the book that had no Tyrion. Granted, Dance with Dragons put my love of Tyrion to the test since he had no interesting plot but still, he's awesome.

Finally, whenever I am feeling really pissed off at GRRM for doing something ridiculous/stupid/insulting, I remember that he created Tyrion, which lessens my rage, at least a bit.
