So yeah, ASoIaF collection finally complete. Until the next one comes out. In about ten years.

Also, bleodswean, I have the first draft of Sun & Moon's next chapter written but I need to give it one last once-over before sending it to you, since it's a bit uneven at the moment, having been started many moons ago. But I should have the time/energy to do that tomorrow.

Finally, I'm going to do this meme even though my recs will be very Klaus/Caroline-centric because that's what I read. There is some other stuff in there though, so even if that doesn't float your boat, check it out!



In no particular order ... except my absolute favourite is last.

Our Road is Long (Your Hold is Strong)
Summary: Everyone's self-control has a breaking point. Elena/Damon, set during 3x10 "The New Deal."
Why I love it: Ah, the days when Damon/Elena was the ship to obsess about. Those were good times. I still do enjoy the pairing and I still enjoy this fic quite a bit, because it captures the building tension between these two that existed throughout season 3.
Favourite line: Elena trembles from the amount of naked vulnerability in his gaze, and it occurs to her she is holding him in the palm of her hand in more ways than one.


Those Hard-Faced Queens of Misadventure
Summary: Loneliness is a terrible thing. Rebekah/Klaus, Caroline/Klaus, Spoilers through 3x11
Why I love it: I have always been partial to fics that are a collection of short scenes and I am an even greater fan of fics where the beginning and the end tie together like a bow.
Favourite line: After putting Rebekah in the coffin, after putting Niklaus in the coffin, Klaus would not celebrate another birthday for nearly 100 years.


Rootless
Summary: After Sherrif Forbes dies, Caroline leaves town and begins to discover her new self. Caroline/Klaus.
Why I love it: Another fic with lots of short moments strung together. Also, I really like future fic for Caroline, because I think she has a lot more potential for growth away from Mystic Falls.
Favourite line: "I lost a parent, not my mind," she responds coldly, watches his eyes flicker and his face twitch with a detachment that scarcely acknowledges the warning in it.


This is Not a Fairytale
Summary: The best love stories are really bloody tragedies. Caroline/Klaus.
Why I love it: I love dark takes on characters and this is one of the best when it comes to taking these two into the far future and seeing just how dangerous they could become.
Favourite line: This was how far Caroline was willing to go to save Klaus; to be with him. And now the whole world knew it. And they may very well burn for it too.


This Fated Obscuring
Summary: Rebekah watches as Klaus and Elijah become rivals for Tatia and Katerina.
Why I love it: I just discovered this one, written by the lovely bleodswean, but I already adore it. Likely because Rebekah is a character that just keeps getting better and really deserves all the love and attention she can get.
Favourite line: Rebekah knew about magic, but Tatia was not a witch, she was the spell itself.


Let Us Adore Him
Summary: Caroline goes looking for Tyler but finds Klaus instead. Set immediately after 4x09.
Why I love it: Yeah. I am reccing my own fic but I really am proud of this one. It's one of the few things I've written that I willingly re-read. I just think it's pretty hot and like to pretend that maybe it did happen off-screen.
Favourite line: She doesn't think to ask him to stop; she doesn't think at all, not until she realizes she is trailing kisses along his jaw and licking the blood of the dead hybrids – of Tyler's dead pack – off his skin.

Summary: By virtue of some sensual E.E. Cummings, Caroline realizes that while she may be familiar with courtship, she has never been properly seduced. Klaroline, erotic poetry, oneshot.
Why I love it: I've honestly never been a huge poetry person, despite the English degree ... but this fic definitely makes me rethink that view, at least where some poems are involved. And yeah, this is hot as hell.
Favourite line: She rereads the poem again, silently mouthing it, forming the words with her lips, feeling their weight on her tongue without actually uttering a word.
