i_paint_the_skyFalling behind on memes, so here's another combo!
Time travel. For the totally mundane reason as it would let me do more things at once. Of course, the downside is that I would be aging all that time, plus there is also all the problems that come with time travel (paradoxes and such) but if I was smart about it, I think it could work nicely.
And I could get that extra hour in the day I talked about before!
I have to admit, this is the highest character on the list that I debated about including or not. Mainly because Leia has so much nostalgia around her but became my favourite character in a time when my favourite characters were always female and, let's face it, the original trilogy didn't give me many other options =P
But then I remembered that I still think Leia is a pretty kickass character and that there is a reason I have wanted to make her costume for years.
Even if Star Wars doesn't even remotely pass the Blechdel test, it definitely passes the test for female agency because of her. Sure she has to be rescued in the first movie, but said rescue attempt would have failed without her participation, as well as aim (she does actually have the highest hit count in A New Hope, apparently ... she'd probably have highest kill count too, if not for the Death Star).
So yes, even if there is definitely a case of nostalgia googles when it comes to her conclusion, Leia is awesome and I'll always love her.
