I spent the morning in bed, not feeling much better but I at least had a cute cat and dog to pet and cuddle with.





First, a confession: I have still not seen this year's Christmas special. Yes, I know, it's been out for ages but I just have never sat down with the intention of watching it yet. I'll do it before the next season gets going (though I actually don't know when that is happening).

Anyway. Eleven is the Doctor who made me understand what people meant when they called one of them "their" Doctor. I liked the other new Doctors but I didn't love them, as demonstrated by the fact that my DVD Doctor Who collection skips over them entirely. But with Eleven, it was pretty much love at first sight - I still think that The Eleventh Hour might be the best single episode of his run, though there have been others that came very close.

I just adore him and love watching him and still sort of can't believe that my journey with this character is almost over. I love how serious he can be and how funny, I love his subtlety and his bombast. I love how even though he's played by the youngest actor, he has moments when he definitely acts like the oldest Doctor.

So I guess he just has this crazy dichotmy that he manages brilliantly that watching the world as he sees it is really a joy.
